...thinking the job market was bad like in NYC, I just accepted the 1st job that i walked into...geez, didn't know any better since they hired me on the spot. Basically, I've found soo many opportunities down here that were harder in NYC for the same jobs.

A new company that will try to compete w/ the napa/mechanics auto parts/ carquest in the auto parts delivery service. (I'm a sucker for new companies)

here's the car I'm drivin' parts to all those gas station garages/dealerships/even to pepboys:

Took it since I didn't wanna go back into peps; & a good way to learn my way around south jersey again. But, after a month, it just got boring since there's nothing to learn.

Pay sux big time, but flying down 295 @85+mph, experiencing torque steer a few times, trying to go sideways on a FWD car unsuccessfully, & just having fun darting through traffic are the only ways I can past the time.

These Hyundai Accents aren't that bad as commuter cars. Sure, I wore down a set of front brake pads after ~5K on the odometer, but everything else worked ok w/ this small car. I think they're GM in disguise, since I was driving behind a chevy malibu one time & the tail light/ headlight assemblies were exactly the same!

by the 4th week, I'm already used to going around the area, so I might just work 1 day a week to keep the discount & mebbe go back to the dark-side (pepboys) or to one of the major auto parts suppliers that I frequently pick up from... agh, maybe sears, so i can get discounts on tools... soo many choices:patriot

ha, i'm the only 1 w/ a radar detector in my car; they said it's against policy to use it, but I told them that I'm using it d/t the digital compass function along w/ my map to find my way around the area (heck, i'm their fastest driver in their location;no one else can fly from cherry hill to marlton nj in under 5 min)

very nice...

& not so nice... eww saw same chrome trim on a red hatchback (u know who u are; take that off immediately!)

this was taken @ the toysrus/ikea area\\ had nice polished rims & dark tint, but that was it.

side note: any other areas of NJ that has 3% sales tax???

"bumper to bumper" is just a slogan; eastern warehouse distributors started in '89 in PA, just spreading out to NJ... never heard of it goin into VA...

the pay sux; rates other drivers getting from carquest/napa/mechanics/ & even pepboys starts @ $7

but, getting home to play w/ my kids before sundown & the fact that I don't have to work sundays/go home early on sat (2pm) is worth stayin w/ this co for the rest of july.

Hmm, priced drive axles for my bro's 91 eclipse= $37 w/ exchange:ylsuper

eh, well the warehouses i've gone to to pick up parts at all had the bumper to bumper logo so i figured it was a common parts company.

Hehe, auto magazines have described that Hyundai's styling as "an Impala crammed on to a small frame." Ive driven it too, and its really not bad. Heck of a bang for the buck, and the overall fit and finish beats the Civic and Sentra.

I took a delivery job for my parents transporting medical equipment (they have a half dozen cardiology clinics, and its cheaper to move equipment around than buy new equipment for each office). Well, my vehicle was a big, wobbly, lumbering GMC van, equipped with a wheelchair lift.

I wanted to quit but couldnt, since they had no one else to do it. I tried pawning the job off to friends, but they werent up for it. One day, getting on the interstate, I tried to merge in but some jerk refused to give me room. I slammed the brakes and the EKG machine toppled over, causing about $10k of damage.

And my parents still didnt fire me. Eventually I threw a mad fit when they had me do a 3-hour delivery (nothing that night was going right, offices were locked, keys didnt match, etc) after I got off a 12-hour day at my regular job at a software company.

Driving is fun, but doing it as work STINKS.

It doesn't stink that much; u get to enjoy the summer weather/scenery,learn about the area while being payed for it, find the limits of this fleet/rental car...

It wasn't paying me enough & I got bored w/ it quick. I needed more of a challenge. Soo, after my birfday, I gave 'em a week's notice & told him to find another "PT Barnum recipient" to drive for that company.

Told him I can be "on-call" to keep my employment status for auto parts discounts, but we both know that I may not be coming back if Pepboys rehires me...

thanx for confirming that the hyundais/kias may be GM in disguise...

Maine, I was gonna try to confirm this w/ the boss, but he's sorta mad @ me for leaving to a competitor who pays more $...:rolleyes
