well i didnt mean too but i hit the rev limiter and now i guess its the turbo makeing a funny noise kinda like metal rubbing metal it is still producing boost just makes an awful sound any suggestions?? oh and it sounds like it is suckin up air before i hit boost didnt use to make that sound before

uuhhh? are you sure its the turbo check your water pump, or any other sort or rotating mass that turns with more RPM's a giveway if it was your turbo is a mass of oil in your IC piping, and I mean alot of oil...

redline isn't going to kill your car, I have hit it many times. Hell, my old KA used to live on the rev limiter :)

yeah but ever since i hit it my car is making a funny noise like a sucking noise when i barley get on it and when the turbo kicks in sounds like a fn when it hits somthing going really fast and it last till i get off the gas and my BOV goes off

Check and see if there is anythign blocking your turbo from spinning. Also, check your fan, waterpump, and all your belts to see if anything could be causing the noise. Sounds elementary, but things can be overlooked quite easily.

my ka used to live on revlimit too, thats why i now have sr. when i over rev the sr on a hot day, my water pump starts to whine a little.

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak. Fire the car up and start poking your head around and listen or feel for the leak (hold your hand over the exh mani and turbo and feel for escaping air)

You described what happens to me all the time. I blow out gaskets like it's my job. Track time kills:pface

aight well i got one more question my turbo is spoolin really slowly i dont hit my peak boost till probably 3k in third gear it boost in 1st and 2nd but only seems to get to about 6psi. with my blitz boost controller i raised the boost to 10 and it still doesnt get above 8psi in 1st and 2nd and hits 10 in 3rd any suggestions on what might be causein this??

d00d,I just told you! You have a exhaust leak. Check the gasket between the turbo and the mani. Most likely it's pretty chewed up and needs to be replaced.

$14 bucks from you friendly nissan service dept. Ask for a 300zx TT turbo gasket and describe where it goes (sorry can't remember the part number)

after i fixed my exhaust leaks, i still had this problem, turned out to be my o2 sensor not being soldered correctly.

thanks i hope it is the gasket cause i got all the exhaust welded up and it sounded so good and boosted great then all the sudden i get the air comin out agian i will try the gasket and let u know what the outcome is
