After my search for getting a straight pipe, I have finally acheived my goal. I have a friend who has a welder and everything else needed to fabricate a straight pipe and we did so. It costs $9 and about 2 hours of work. Its louder then before but not a whole lot louder because Im still running stock cat-back. I notice a little performance increase but not a ton. I also love the smell, its so good.

Custom fabbing is good and all...but there are plenty of people who sell race/test pipes.

$50 everywhere I look, but still, that's to much. I don't see why you guys are doing test pipes anyway, it's not seriously going to affect your performance much at all, and it sucks for air quality. Be a good person and buy a high flow cat.

Bah, one extra car without a cat isn't going to do much. Besides, the smell of not having a cat is amazing and has that high performance sensation to it.

A little update on the straight pipe:

The way I made it was a little different then what you guys are probably thinking. What I did was:

1.) cut off the cat with a saw on both ends. Yes I am aware that this has ruined the header and cat-back. (They are stock so I don't care)

2.) Got a 2.5" pipe and two ends that went down to 2.25" and welded them to the 2.5" pipe.

3.) I slid the pipe in and then used these clamps to hold the pipe.

Today when I was comming home from school I floored it after the engine was warm and noticed that there seemed to be the sound of high air pressure leaking from somewhere. I floored it again and realized that it was comming from where I put the straight pipe. I don't think that its sealed completely, but it almost sounds like I now have a blow-off valve. Sweet!
