ive currently got a good condition ARC super intercooler I was going to use and make some real nice ducting out of sheetmetal, get rid of the fogs, mandrel full metal IC pipes. been debating though how this would compare to a 6 or 8 inch tall 2-2.75 inch deep front mount setup?obviously in high horsepower apps fmic is necessary, but im on a CA t25 right now thatll be pushing about 190 to the wheels tops with future plans at most include an sr t25 and safc doing maybe 210-220 at the wheels, ~14psi tops for both setups. given that, how will the ARC smic setup compare to the FMIC? would the smic cool better during certain driving styles than the fmic like auto x or drifting?

cooling is also an issue, would a 6" tall 2.75" FMIC increase temps noticably during summer in the south ? (sometimes 100*)

No it doesn't increase temps. to a major degree. What really causes it to get hot is using the stock KA radiator. I found I needed a koyo to keep it from climbing in +100º weather.

you'll be more than fine. i've talked to lots of people who run ~250whp SR's on stock turbo/14psi and have never been able to heatsoak the ARC sidemount. if you're only looking at ~200whp, then with proper ducting and the ARC sidemount you'll pretty much be set even on the racetrack. the ARC intercoolers are surprisingly efficient for their sizes.

i agree. you'll get less lag with smic and since you're only going for 200ish you should be perfectly fine, from what i hear arc smic are good to about 300
