lol wait your telling me you are trading in the V for a shopping cart on steroids!??? I would rather have the V with a 2 cylinder 50 hp motor than a civic SI!

My Father-in-law has an SI and WOW is it not what I would have thought a Civic was. The Vtech is a freeking powerhouse over 6grand, and it corners like it is on rails. It has a bit of a rough ride (firm), and the tires that come on it are a summer tread that ware quick. We took a road trip from Pittsburgh PA to Dayton OH for the Hamvention a while ago and I was not cramped. I'm 6-1 240lbs. Good luck, and enjoy.

The Civis Si is a hot car...no doubt. But isn't it true that you have to burn premium fuel in that car? That's like a $0.30 per gallon difference. If we get a hurricane this summer that hits the gulf coast, I hate to think what a gallon of premium will cost.

The Civic SI is pretty nice, but its also a fair bit more expensive. I'd had the money to buy a Civic SI instead of a Versa.. I would have gone with a Mazda 3 Sport instead.

I'm not a very big Civic fan, but WOW. The new SI's are no joke at all. My friend has one and its great. Lol.

and Matt, I don't even wanna imagine another hurricane. Ivan, Katrina... I've seen some ugly ones. =( It'll be all good though!

Congrats on your new SI man.

I've owned an 86 CRX Si, an 88 CRX Si, a 90 Civic Si, and I still have a 99 Integra GSR. All testaments to the light with strong engine philosophy. The new Civic Si is ~300 lbs heavier than the GSR is the GSR was considered a porker compared to the comparable Civic. I don't doubt it's a nice car but it's not what I would expect. A Fit Si would be far closer to the ideal. I guess that's why people are trying to stuff a K20 into the Fit, and why I've owned the GSR for so long.

BTW, little know fact, various Fit owners have reported getting only 26 mpg. I've never gotten less than 30 mpg in my 170HP 1.8L GSR. Another reason I've kept it, the alternatives aren't any better.

A neighbor kid bought a new (2004) Civic SI after his Celica was repossessed... he obviously didn't love the new Honda, as the repo man took it a few months later... this kid filed bankruptcy at the age of 19, and three repossessions by the age of 24.

yes I realized he said that, but he is basically trading the V for a civic still in generalized terms.

Indeed. Though, when the banks look at me by comparison, it makes me look fantastic. Which is why the mortgage banks have been fighting for my business these past couple months.

Having A1 credit is nice. I've heard people at car dealerships being told as long as their rating was in the upper 500's they should be able to get a loan. That surprises me as that is an indicator they are probably living above their means anyway.

I love Civics... They make me laugh! Almost every Honda Civic owner (or "Hondahole") install enormous rims that barely fit on the car while leaving the stock drum brakes visible... or the guy down the road who has this enormous spoiler, 55-gallon drum muffler, altezza taillights and stock steel rims complete with hubcaps. The car sounds like a Honda Spree scooter...
