Well, whats up? NM here, though we needed a new thread. Getting stuff ready to fly back to Tucson tomarrow. So Iam thinking of doing a few things to my 240sx, Iam thinking of a rb20det swap, whatcha guys think? All and all for the class I want to run I need around 181rwhp. I have a good access to a RB motor, so what do you guys think?

hell, if you got easy access to an RB for your car, than by all means. 180WHP isn't that far off for a 20. I mean, you figure a Skyline 20 is 215, and for instance a Cefiro or Laurel is about 205...at the FW of course. 180 at the wheels is not to much of a task.

We need some Aussie NICO members to search junkyards for us U.S. people for RB30 bottom ends. Shipping couldn't be THAT much...

I don't know dude. Shipping a Navan S14 spoiler from Japan was quoted at about $200. Australia and and Japan are just about the same distance in theory from the states. I would hate to see what a botton end would cost to ship.

Iam poor I could only afford a rb20, they seem to go cheap and still be great motors.

I gotta call tomarrow and see what the deal is with the motor.

But damn I hate plane rides, jet lag sucks. Long day Iam going to sleeeeep.

I would think the spoiler was shipped as a package, and a motor would have to be shipped as freight. That would seem to make a difference.

na ka

heck even an sr20ve...if i only had to run around 180rwhp i probably would go the natural route, but then again the rb20 might be less expensive

what class/sanctioning body are you going to be running?

Its a class for some local racing I was reading about. I know I will be in the SM class, I think they sold the engine, but they have another that needs some 'parts'. I will check it out, and I have a project for a NA KA. Kinda of a hybrid I will be picking up the "new" block next week(hopefully)

ya it will be a autox sm, but thats not the class I am modding the car too, but thats it will it will fall in, a local ASRA class. The way I see it, either motor will sit on the engine stand for awhile as my current KA has bit the dust.

Ahh, yes the ITB, those in the pic above are carbs. Carbs are sweet. ITBs are sweet too. Panda and devious are doing great things with the KA.
