alright the rot damage to the strut tower isnt so bad. one autobody guy said it was sound enough to bondo and paint it over but i decided to have it plated to be fair in case i sell it. I got 2 options.

1.wait till after the engines in it and have a premium job done at a shop $200+ quality

2. have a guy do it ghetto style on site $100 convenience

shop will engineer it stronger than factory with large plates using a heliarc on the thin sections.

on site guy will preserve the integrity with small plates and puzzle pieces.

im leary of on site having heat distortion with the mig. besides he was sorta weird

Im installing a well maintained stock ka24e with 143k. the frame rails are sorta banged up. so im leaning towards economy and convenience. only planning on asking $1500 or so when its done. more like practice. besides no one welded anything for me.

only 1 spot weld up front is missing the rest are solid. all the rust is scraped out of the seam. needs to be hammer flat plated. por 15 rustoleum undercoat.

if you arent getting much for it then go the cheaper route. personally i would just puzzle piece it myself and mig away. $200 is not a bad price anyhow.

yeah besides if i have to ditch the project to work on the other (no rust woo hoo!) at least i can sell it as a solid if not perfect chassis w engine. even with a cheapo strut tower brace itll hold for many years. im sure theres worse being drifted as i type.

thanks for the 3rd opinion
