think about this man. when you go around a turn, the inner wheel must turn slower than the outer, the diff. allows this to take place. a limited slip will allow it to still turn at different speeds but it will restrain them from turning at excessively different speeds, and also allows power to be delivered to both wheels through a turn.
if you weld a differential, how are the wheels going to turn at different speeds?
A: they cant, the inside wheel will hop instead, and this can contribute to a loss of traction
if all you do is drift, this can be done (still not as good as a genuine LSD), but if you plan to drive your car on the street at all, especialy in the rain, i would HIGHLY recomend against it.
