welded diff

hi everyone im fairly new here but i am looking at buying a 1991 240sx and the only thing that im worried about is the fact that it has a welded diff from what i have found it will cost alot to get a new diff installed and it would not be easy to do myself. so i am wondering if i drive it as an everyday car can having a welded diff break anything or cause any probs.

i wont drive in freeway. i drove my 240sx with welded diff for at least 8 months without problems.

its easy to swap diffs .. u only need some tools and a friend with smart brain and a little of time.

the first time was about an hour to swap diffs... so now i can do in 30 mins without help !!

u dont worry about the welded diff but u drive normal and dont step on gas while raining or similar.

Faster, when you go around corners they opposite tire will chunk and kinda drag so yes they wont last as long.

i am really sure its better than having a open diff.

an open diff will destroy ur tires faster if u drive hard and all the time only one tire will be damaged. to the oppossite side of welded diff, it destroy ur tires at the same time. i was very happy with my welded diff because tires last better than with open diff. when i switch to open diff my rear left tire wear very fast. at this time i change 2 times this tire and rear right tire seems to be very good.
