i've noticed quite a few new screen names in our little corner of nico here. i just wanted to say hello and welcome.

so what brought you to nico? how did you hear about it? i'm not a moderator or anything special and i'm not using this information for any sort of scientific research. i'm just curious.

we need to know about your car. and don't bother posting anything about your car if you dont' have pics. the "pics or ban" smiley comes up pretty often over here because we all love to see everyone else's verts - even if they're stock. also, if you haven't all ready, please sign up and fill out the convertible registry at the top of the forum (it's stickied).

everyone's pretty cool and laid back here. feel free to ask questions, ask for help, and tell stories. oh, and post pictures.

Best car forum on the net. I joined becasue I had an AT problem and being the goober that I am researched "automatic transmission not shifting out of first" and "viola" up popped this forum.

Since that time I've done a few minor mods and posted a bunch of process pics and learned a great deal about this car. I've kicked myself daily for throwing away the boot and boot cover becasue I didn't have any place to keep it and I've lauged at all the noobs asking the same questions I did all the while ignoring the blinking SEARCH button. If only it were more noticable.....

Peace on earth and goodwill toward vert owners. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Just bought it yesterday in Atlanta. I'm already in love with the car, altho it has a few minor "improvement opporunities":

1. Power steering hose leaks so badly that it's undriveable, and when I tried to swap out the hose, I got the top fitting off but couldn't get the line loose at the bottom.

2. Shifting gears is frequently accompanied by grinding.

3. The radio just plain sux. It's due for replacement after I get the power steering line replaced somewhere.

Anyone know where to get some work done in northeast Atlanta? Thanks!!

Been there done that. Did you disconnect front sway bar? It'll give you more rooms. Soak it with PB Blaster and heat up a little bit. It'll come loose eventually. Be careful not to round off the nut.

We didn't take the sway bar off... just fought and cussed and busted a knuckle or two. I'm gonna call the local shop and see if they wanna do it for me.

The local shop wanted $210 plus parts to swap out the power steering line. I found another guy that came to my house and did the whole job for $75, including the $10 part he had to go buy for it.

Too cool!! It's running and on the road!!

I was actually scoping that car out!

My vert story:

Got my eye on another one in eastern NC at a VW dealership. Their asking price is $4,495.00. Salesman sent me pics---it's a nice car but needs work. I told him today that I'd give him $3,500 for the car. He called back a few minutes later "after talking with the manager", and says the manager will meet me in the middle at $3,750.00. I said "nope, $3,500 is my offer..." He responded. "oh, OK..." poor guy sounded like he just lost his dog. I checked my phone a few minutes ago, and the salesman left a message..."I have some interesting news to share with you---you'll like this news." I haven't called back, but it will be the typical "I talked to my boss, and he'll go $3,700 on the car..." I am in no hurry. Oh, and the funniest part of all...when I called this guy, he said "this convertible is only one of 100 made this year!" Within 30 seconds I showed him exactly how much of a tool he was. God, I hate car salemen... So hopefully within a few days/weeks, I'll join the ranks, and add an S13 Vert to my two S14's (see signature).

I'm new to verts. I picked up mine in August or so. I've done a few things to it so far, and I'm finally starting to make some decent headway. My buddy told me about this forum today, so I figured I'd check it out. I've owned an s13 hatch and a turbo'd s14, so I'm not new to 240's, just this car.

I'd post pictures, but they were on my old computer that blow'd up. Just picture a white vert on 962s w/ 20mm spacers, dumped on coilovers, black coupe doors, no back seat, 350z front seats, and a silvia front end.
