welcome lighting

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have yet to see the welcome lighting appear on my new ex. is there a setting I need to get to to allow it? I would like for this feature to work IF its part of the 2010 model.

Simple to activate. Set to off from the factory.

Read page 2-53 of the owners manual.

ok I did what it said, push the start button to 'ON' which doesnt specify whether the engine should start or not. and what exactly is the 'door open request switch'? the manual is very poorly written.

Get in the carPush the start button with your foot off the brake. (push twice)Roll the window down (in this case holding the unlock button might be easiest)Push the lock/unlock button on the outside of the door (hold the button outside the door, until you hear a very audible BEEPING sound)

Now get out of the carLock the car (has to be locked)Walk away from the carWalk back to the car and the lights inside and below the mirrors will light up - u will be within about 1 ft of the car (at least it is for me)

~ also, alot of dealerships forget to reprogram welcome lighting cuz the car sits on the lot with no activity. (anytime you got past 14 days it will auto shut off)

On the '10, the steps above didn't work for me so I looked it up in the owner's manual. It was basically the same except I needed to have the door open. After I did that, it worked.
