WELCOME LIGHT

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Is someone know how to settle the welcome light ?By default this function is not is not in function when we receive the EX35.I found in the owner manual how to put it on. It's working but only when I touch the door handle.

On their ad the welcome light should light on when we approach the car if you have the intellignet key into your pocket.

Is the welcoming light is working fine for you ?

Me too. I did everything the manual said and it still does not work. I am starting to think that the welcome lights come on when you use the remote key fob and not when you approach the car. can someone please show us how to program step by step.

I've had my EX for eight days (love at first sight!) and I noticed the other night that the welcome lights do come on, but I had to get really close to the car. I didn't use the key fob (it was in my handbag), but the lights didn't appear until I was a few inches from the door.

I didn't do anything with the settings on the car (haven't even had time to read the manual yet!), so I don't know why yours isn't working properly.

There's no problem in my ex35 since I took delivery. I approach the car and the welcome light will be on.

the fob only works within about 30 inches of the car so that's probably when you'll see the welcome light come on.

You may already know this, but the Welcome light only works if the car is locked when you approach. Took me a while to figure that bit out.

Hi, I followed the steps in the manual. It worked for me. When I approached the car, the welcome light did turn on.

Yeaaaa. It worked for me too. I also think that the secret was having the window open and opening the door from the outside. it is such a simple feature but makes me smile every time the lights turn on.

What is in the book does not work ... follow what the book says except when it says to open the door ... DON'T! Instead, start the process sitting in the car with the door closed - turn the ignition to ON and then roll down the window and follow the rest of the instructions (you will reach out of the open window and press the unlock button on the outside door handle ... leaving the drivers door closed). THEN you will get the confirmation the book says you will!!! Took me forever to find this fix so I am happy to post for others!

so do you lock the doors, pull on the handle while pushing the button? I tried to NOT open the door like the post above but it didn't work.

It works for me whether I lock the door with the remote or by using the door handle. I had to go through the resetting procedure to get it to start working though.

I didn't have to use the window method.

I just went into the car and closed the door, put it to the "ON" position, opened the door and pressed (and held) the button on the handle down for a few seconds and I got the chime indicating that it worked.

Works like a charm now.

ok so puzzle me this, do I get OUT of the car with the fob and push the unlock button with the door wide open? I tried it again today by opening the door from the outside and then pushing the button I got the high pitched beep and then eventually I got a chime inside the car, but still no worky.

Just to be sure ...a) your car has to be locked, ANDb) you have to be within a couple of feet of a lock/unlock button (either front door or hatch)in order to activate the Welcome light.

I unlocked with door handle button, got in the car and closed the door (and didn't lock), put car to "ON" position, got out of car and with the door still open I press and held the handle button till I got the chime.

It works perfect now.

getting out of the car did the trick. too bad the light doesn't come on sooner when you approach the car. For me by the time it comes on I'm already at the door opening it which will make the light come on anyways.

well, I think it was on all along, but I wasn't seeing it since the windows are tinted and it activates just as I am right by the car. Then I think I disabled it fiddling with it. I also noticed it doesn't work if the car is unlocked when you approach it. I wished to goodness it would activate when you approach the car from the back. Waiting until you reach the door is useless. the little Infiniti demo video on Youtube with the little Japanese women walking up to it makes it look like it comes on much sooner.

WOW.

You know, it was mentioned many times that the car had to be locked for the welcome lights to come on.

Also, it DOES work when you come from the back.

the tint on my windows must prevent me from noticing it when I approach from the back.
