Ok, I just swapped this engine and I got a crank no start. I knew it worked when it came out of the last car, but I changed the set up a bit, I'll list the details later. It would only start when I disconnect the MAFS. I installed an adjustable fpr and got the pressure right and I tried to start it with the MAFS connected. It ran. The idle was high at around 1200 to 1500, but it ran. I turned it off when I noticed the electric fans weren't coming on when they were supposed to. It didn't over heat.

I went out to get my tags, a manual switch for the fans, and some carb cleaner to clean the IAVC. I wired the fan switch and tested it by turning the key to acc and switching it on. The fans worked, but I didn't try to start the motor at this point because I was confident that it would work and I needed to adjust the idle.

I sprayed carb cleaner into where the hose from the cold pipe goes into the IACV and into the hole where the adjustment screw was. I used the whole can, put the hose back in, disconnected the TPS, and put the idle adjustment screw in so it was higher than it was so I could lower it to where it needs to be. I tried to start it and I got a crank no start. I tried with the MAFS disconnected and it won't start like that either. I tried with the TPS connected with the same result. I pulled the plugs and they were a little dirty, but not very dirty. I keep the battery charged. The fuel pressure is good.

Doing things to the IACV wouldn't cause it to not start right? It has to be part of the original problem. Wtf could it be that it'll not work, then work, and then not work?

It might be worth noting that the KA had the same problem before I chunked it. It might me a coincidence, but it might not be a coincidence.

Details of the swap from the prospective of the motor.

Old chassis: 240sx S13
New chassis: 240sx automatic 1997 S14. I did the 5 speed conversion with the SR transmission.

Old air read: Z32 MAFS on cold pipe
New air read; Z32 MAFS on turbo inlet.

Old A/F control: Apexi Neo
New A/F control: Enthalpy tune

I got a new prefab harness and new piping.

More details of the setup: Five-o 550cc injectors, Isis RS3871 turbo, SSQV 1 atmospheric blow off. Walbro 255. Isis adjustable FPR kit. Metal head gasket.

I knew it had to be something simple. I disconnected the injector harness and let it run until it putted out. It runs now.

Swap success!
