ok i finally installed my oil pressure gauge. first i had the gauge's ignition wire wired to the battery wire of the cd player. well now i believe i shorted the wire. cd player doesn't work now. also, for some reason the map light doesnt work, but if i turn it on, the clock dims out but no light. also, my door open light blinks continuesly.... kinda strange but what should i do to start fixing these problems?

First off, don't use constant 12v battery sources to power gauges. The gauges will draw power from the battery when the car is off, and you'll end up with a dead battery.

Use ignition sources for ignition wires.

I'd undo everything you've done and start over.

Also, it sounds like you might have blown a fuse. Car stereos usually have their own fuses on the back side, so check there first.

And you should always disconect your battery when working on electrical.

ok, everything is hooked up right now. some reason my clock, dome light, map light doesn't work. also it doesn't detect when the pass side door opens so the seat belt doesn't move... any ideas? btw i disconnected the battery and all fuses are fine.

Your "room lamp/clock/interior light/door chime" fuse in the in cabin fuse box is blown (im 90% sure). Check fuses again.

i'm 100% sure. I've blown that fuse a few times. It's easy to time your trips though since the clock always reset to 1:00 when you turn off the car

Haha yeah, it's happened to me too. One time I shorted the battery wire to a ground and it blew that fuse. Then my dome, clock, etc stopped working. EZ Fix...
