ok this is the problem when i bought the car, the security/ interior fuse was pulled out.. i put it in and the side markers and rear running lights stay on..never turns off, with the fuse out nothing comes on until i turn the key then everything comes on. but shouldnt the running lights only come on when you turn the light switch to the running lights? and not be on all the time as long as the key is turned. even when i disconnect the light switch when i put the fuse in the running lights still come on...is this a alarm problem? i disconnected the alarm and no change.. 1990 300zx coupe na model...please help

Firstly I would start off by looking up the wiring diagram for our cars, there is a thread on here that has it:

everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-z ... l#p5790818

Start tracing from there. Obviously it has something to do with your electrical so this would be my first stop. It would also help if you have a multimeter to take readings with, even a cheap one will work.

Good Luck

With previous owners there is no telling what you'll find. I got lucky with mine and only found an excess of stereo wires, almost two entire amp wire kits under the carpet. I did get lucky that he hadn't messed with any of the harnesses.
