Hi, i'm new to this forum. So happy to finally get a Z.. I just bought a 91' TT w/ 134K for $2500.....i don't know if thats normal like when you start it in the morning w/ the hood open, it blows out a large pressure of air to your face while looking at the engine but then goes away, it drips oil and most of all the transmission... it has this weird vibration in my transmission everytime I accelerate.....Yeah yeah yeah I know....it's an AUTOMATIC :wtf2: but there's no slipeage while shifting..but when at freeway speeds of 65mph, when you let go of the gas and accelerate normal not punching it, it jumps to 3rd gear then 4th. But most of all its that vibration..and the middle console gets warm and your right leg where it rest. Enough to melt a chapstick inside your middle console..

Here is an auto transmission diagnostic mode to try out:

The vibration could be your torque converter.

I perform the transmission check and went fine. The yellow light flash 10x. So I guess my transmission is ok.. Still getting that weird vibration. But its werird how sometimes that vibration goes away. sometime when i only warm up the engine for a minute, its fine but as soon as it warms up it starts to vibrate.......so most of the time it vibrates but once in a while it does not....

Is your transmission fluid full? How does the fluid look; is it more red or more dark brown?

My center console gets warm too, sucks when it's a hot day. I don't think I'm missing any heat shields either.

My transmission is red... Yeah i made sure i checked that also..But for some reason, it drips oil. its black like it needs an oil change but my oil is still new. The previous owner had just replaced it. I dunno what kind of oil but i'm also thinking of replacing it w/ amsoil and along w/ a new oil plug to see if that could be the case. I hope the previous owner did not put too much oil in it because everytime i check my dip stick, its still ok..

Have you checked your carrier bearing on the driveshaft? The oil could be coming from a number of places. Get under your car and see if you can determine where it's coming from. And for the pressure of air thing, can you be more specific lol?
