Ive had a few days off of work, so my car sat for 2 days. Came back to it today and the battery was dead, boosted her, ran it for 10 min or whatever, and when I turned it off, I noticed a "buzzing/static" noise from my feet.

It only lasted a few seconds after I turned the car off so I turned it back on and it was making it while running, I located it to the underneath drivers side of the dash, but couldnt pinpoint any further.

The way I can best describe the noise is that it sounded like low static/buzz from speakers, and lasted about 4 seconds after the car was turned off (the noise kinda died off slowly, not all at once)

I just disconnected my battery, just to reset it I guess. But does anyone have any clues? This is an 01 QX4 2wd 3.5L btw

I am getting this same exact noise. At certain RPM's (usually around 3000 RPM's) I will get this buzzing/static noise from somewhere around the driver foot well. I'm not sure if it's coming from the speaker or what. It drives me nuts and sometimes it's really loud. I get the noise with and without music. I know for sure that my driver speaker is wired properly and it has a secure ground.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is it your antenna retracting?

I don't have a power antenna, it's a fixed antenna.

I read an Infiniti service bulletin that said that older model QX4's (I think 2001) had this issue and it was fixed by replacing the ignition coil resistors. I don't even know if my Pathfinder has those or where they would even be, or if this is even remotely the issue.

EDIT: The Infiniti service bulletin is for vehicles which have static when listening to FM radio. I get this static when using any radio input. I have a Pioneer aftermarket head unit and the unit chassis is grounded to the vehicle. Also, the service bulletin is for 2002 QX4's.

I found the service bulletin and read through it. The ignition coil resistor is in the ignition coil tube which goes over the spark plug. To get to the resistor I have to remove the coil tube from the coil pack for each ignition coil. This seems like it would be a huge pain in the a** just to replace six springs.

Anybody else having this issue or is it just me? I really hope it's not the ignition coil resistors.
