I could find much of anything relating to this problem and was curious if anyone had any input for me to relay to the shop guys working on the car...

Basically we got:

Stock Ca18det300Z Maf2.5 inch ExhaustCa18de ecu with Nistune

He is basically going off of the output that Nistune is showing and I told him to manually check the TPS voltage. IF Nistune is not showing some screwy readings then this is the problem:

The TPS is showing 4 volts constant output. Even with the TPS unplugged it was still showing 4 volts output. It's constant moving the throttle doesn't change the voltage.

I'm hoping it's a Nistune screwup, I'll know tomorrow if it is or not, but if it isn't Nistune giving a false reading and when we manually check the voltage tomorrow and it's constant with the TPS even unplugged - what do you guys think?

hmm havent had that problem yet on any nistune boards i've sold, nistune on mine, i never paid much attention to the tps voltage because mine is new, but i'll take a look at it over the weekend

It was a Nistune problem, for some reason Nistune's gauges are showing 4 volts, but the multimeter shows the TPS to be working fine.

Nistune is also refusing to let us change the injector size...

Gonna remove the software and reload it to see if that fixes it.

It's on the dyno as I type this! So freakin excited!

Hopefully it'll survive the dyno tuning and not pop! The guy asks me "is there a number your trying to hit?" I said "No, I just want it to be reliable and run right". The other guy says "I can't wait to red line it!".

These things are durable right?

Btw, I already got my phantom grip and stage 2 clutch waiting for it to get back...

I got 3mb wifi at my campground

I talked to the dude on Monday and he said he didn't get it on the dyno the other day. He didn't work on it Monday because he was catching up on his Saturday work. I'm sure he was working on that supercharged BMW I seen in there instead (I'm sure they're paying more than me )

Anyhow, soon as I find out - trust me I'll be on here bragging first thing...

Well they've not been able to solve the problems to even get this thing dyno'd...

TPS is reading some messed up stuff. They emailed this info to me.

With the wires physically removed from the ECU, the car still shows 3.6v...it should be 0.4 volts at throttle closed and 4.6v at WOT.

They said the TPS was fine, but believe it's an ECU problem. Have any of you guys had a similar problem? Input?

So we open up the ecu and guess what...

A bunch of the pins on the daughterboard were bent, and one broke off...

So off to the electronics shop for repair I guess...

Gonna kick our local engineering shop that installed the daughterboard in the teeth...

You beat me to it, but I was going to say that I'll bet the daughterboard is fkd up.

Daughterboard has been repaired, but it was still is reading 3.6 volts on the TPS.

Matt from Nistune went through the software and ends up there was a bug in the program in which it was reading the coolant temperature sensor voltage as being that of the TPS.

That bug has probably been out there since Nistune was first created, but I'm probably the first guy to put Nistune on a N13 ca18de ECU, so the bug was never noticed until me.

Hopefully, this will solve the issue (I'll know by this evening), and the car can FINALLY get tuned and dyno'd.

I just hope I don't get charged some god awful high tuning bill because of this bug...

It wasn't a bug in the Nistune board - it was a bug in the tuning software that comes with it.

It ONLY affected KN13 (Pulsar) ECU's, not other ca18 ECU's. It's already been fixed and an update posted on nistune's website.

I do have to applaud Matt at Nistune for fixing the bug and putting out the update the same day it was found.

You can do either, at first I sent my board in and had it installed, but then a short in my dropping resister fried my ecu so I had a local company remove the factory chip and install the nistune daughterboard.

Okay, quick update...

Been having TONS of problems...

#1 Two coilpacks went out - had those replaced those...

For some reason the car isn't getting spark half the time - we switch out the ecu and bam it doesn't have that problem. We switch Nistune onto the new ECU, same problem.

I think I have a defective Nistune daughterboard which has given me problems from the day I first installed it.

So I've decided after MANY hours of fighting this car to go with a piggy back system and switch over to a map sensor system.

I'll keep you updated with this and hopefully can get the car back soon. I'll also keep you updated to whether Nistune makes it right with me concerning this defective daughterboard.
