I've been a lurker around here for ages now and for the first time can't find any solution to my problem by searching.
I set my timing mechanically with a timing gun to 15 degrees btdc. If I begin with the cas at 0btdc, I have to rotate the cas counter clockwise to bring it to 15 degrees. Basically mechanical advance requires the cas to be rotated counterclockwise.
However, on my consult display rotating the cas counterclockwise actually ADVANCES the reading on the display. Fully counterclockwise the cas reads on consult around 5-10btdc while mechanically reads 20btdc.
The car seems to have more power the further the cas is rotated counterclockwise.
So what the hell is going on?
Which was on the cas actually advances the timing?
