I have a 95 240sx with a KA24DE. There is a ticking sound coming from behind my dash that comes on when the key is in the ON position and when the car is started. Could this possibly have something to do with the pass. side air bag? From what i can tell it sound to be coming from just to the left of the passenger airbag. It sounds like a slight wirling sound like an electric motor but with a ticking sound along with it.Any ideas on how to find out what it is besides take my dash apart guys?please help

I have a headache attempting to read and understand what you said, all while seeing all the words in CAPS. Stop yelling lol.

As for the sound, I think there's a trapped rat under your dash. Take it apart and check.

I don't know if this helps, but I have a 96 and a messed up drivers side window switch. When I make it go down, the switch catches and keeps wanting to go down but it is impossible to tell because it is in fact already down. Anyways, what I am getting at is when this happens (like at the drive thru) I can hear an intermittent clicking noise behind the dash. This is how I can tell the switch is stuck so all I have to do is wiggle the switch and it stops.

So possibly it is an electrical issue somewheres? May not be the same problem with the window but just the electrical part making a ticking noise.

I hope something I said was useful and good luck!

To help isolate the problem, move the selector on the HVAC controls and see if the clicking stops. It sounds like the motors that operate the blend doors (the part that tells the air where to go) defrost, floor, vents, or combination. These can sometimes stick and cause the noise that you are describing. Hope this helps.

Better you go to the specialist mechanics for that and get this problem solved with the help of them.

This just worked for me today. I had exactly the same issue as described. Thank you
