Ok, I changed my starter about 2 months ago, and the alternator 2 weeks after that. Yesterday my car started acting weird on me, what happened was that I was on my way to work and my car started delaying power when i would hit 3500 rpm going 75mph. It would delay like if it was trying to get power and losing it at the same time (vroom vroom vroom). And I noticed when i pulled over that my rpms would die out little by little until finally it turned off. I dont know what it is, is it bad gas or something?

Thats one of my problems, the other one is:

This morning I got up to go to work, I tried to start my car but it didnt all I heard was a loud lasting noise. Like if the starter was trying to work but didnt (the sound was like a loud fan noise that wouldnt turn off). Until I moved the wire that comes out of the starter on the upper right part of it and the sound went away. And when I tried starting it, it worked. Did we put it on wrong? Please help. I have a 1990 240sx hatch 5spd and stock engine. I dont know if that matters or not, but please help me. Thanx.

There needs to be a troubleshoot forum for just this reason. Every time I have posted this type of question I never get any real answers. I wish I could be of help, sorry.

Did you get the car to run properly or not?

Could be maf sensor. I'd say first clean the connectors on it with something(I used goof-off said D'OH and then used wd40).

On a 90 it is a little connector near the air box with a sob little clip that you need a needle nose pliers to get off, then the connector comes apart. There are like 3 close to there, so you want the one that has 3 prongs inside. Just clean them and put back together. To be on the safe side, unhook your neg battery terminal for 15 mins to reset the ECU. Hook it back up and try to start again.

If that doesn't work, go online and find how to check the ecu codes and what the codes mean.

I only say clean the connector first because it already seems to be thowing the MAF code and usually you don't need a new one. The connector just seems to get dirty. Plus, there is all the interior stuff you have to pull away to get at the ecu.

Hope this helps.

Try checking your fuel filter and fuel pump. I had a bunch of gunk in my lines because the mechanic that put in my new fuel pump (free labour) used silicone to line my gasket.

When my lines and filter plugged I lost a lot of hp, had trouble starting, lost races badly, and lost rpms at high speeds. The car also cut out on the freeway. Had the gas pedal all the way down and nothing happened.
