weird starting problem. 93 ka-de

so today i go to my dads house, and the car started and everything just fine. and then i when i get to his house. we're about to go eat and then, my car wont start, it has gas in it, the battery is only 2 months old. anyways. it happens like this, when i turn the ignition on the gauges and lights work and then as soon i go for the cranking it shuts all power off and then i gotta wait till it feels like giving the car power and try again..bam everything shuts off. i never had this happen before but when my old battery(before this one thats only 2 months old.) it was completely dead. anybody have this problem before?? or know of a way to fix it.
