weird starter issue

yesterday I drove my car to art class, and after the class I got into my car starting it, but it just clicks. I was thinking okay... starter selenoid might stuck again, so I taped it a lil, and tried again. "Click" so I tried couple more times it still just clicks, then nothing... nothing... not even a click... so I called my friend that my starter went bad and car is not starting asking to get a ride. after the call I went back into the car and it still clicks and clicks. I was messing around with gears (mine is an auto, but I was just trying everything) so I put it in neutral and pressing my brake and tried to start the car "vrrrooom" it started....

I just tried to start it again, nothing weird happened it just start right away...

I need to know what caused that? the starter went bad again? or the relay? Thanks for the help.

The second time you started it. Was it in nuetral or park? My fiances done this same thing. I swapped the shifter and no more probs. (I just had one laying around.)

the car was in neutral when it started.

is there anything else could cause this? experts I need your insights and knowledge!thanks!

Try putting it in park again and see what happens, you might just need another shifter.

I tried couple times today, no problem starting it.... my car is being like a prego women!!! so dramatic and unpredictable!!!
