Hey Guys,
1991 240sx se Automatic.
So about 3 weeks ago I replaced my starter. B/c the only wayI could start it was to smack the selenoid. ( And yes , the bolt was a ***** to remove)
So for 3 weeks, no problems.
But yesterday after driving home from work.I park the car for 30 minutes. I go to start the car and nothing.
I try a few times. NothingI'm pretty sure I hear the relays clicking.Sometimes I think the hear the pinion about to spin but sounds like it stop like it is jammed.Sometimes i don't think i hear anything.
So I try again in 3 hours. No problems.I start the 4 times in a row. No problems.
The next morning, I start the car 3 times in a row, no problems.
I drive to work (about 10 miles) an then start the car 3 times. No problem.
I drive home. Then start the car 3 times, no problems. I go to eat and return after a hour, car won't start.
I hear the clicks of the selenoid. I go inside
An hour later, I try the car again and the car starts. I try 3 more times ina row. Everything is fine again.
Whats going on???
I haven't taken out the Multimter yet, bc it is so intermittent.I check the next time it won't start.
Could the pinion be getting jammed to the internal gears (don't know what it is called.)
ThanksDK
