Weird Speedo Problem works on and off I already searched no luck.

I have a 1991 240sx with a redtop sr. after I did a longblock swap my speedo will work sometimes and not work most of the time. when I turn off the car while the speedo is working it wont be working when I turn the car back on. While im driving it will sometimes work then stop working then work again this happens in different time periods. it seems like a ground wire or something is loose but I dont know if there is a ground wire for it or where it is. ive already checked the speed sensor to see if its loose and its not and I checked the wiring from the harness and on the speed sensor and its all fine no damage to it. any help would be appreciated.
