Weird sound...

I just cleaned the MAF in my 98 max. After putting it and the cone filter back on i started it and heard a weird noise coming from the intake area. When i took the maf off i noticed the clamps were not snug so i made sure to tighten them more this time. Would this have any negative effect or should i loosen them as they were. The car drives fine though. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What did the noise sound like?Some info would help.

I guess its kinda like a metallic hissing sound........that about as good as i can describe it. Like i said i have a cone filter in place of the stock filter, maybe this noise is just the filter and i havent had the engine running and the hood open since i installed it. I can only hear it when the car is idling. Once i rev it the sound is gone or drowned out by the engine noise. The car is running normal and i could just be worried about nothing i hope

Sound like just the noise from the filter.My friends truck sounds like that at idle.

Or could be a lose hose line or vaccum.

Thanks for the input. I have a couple frieds that said its a normal noise as well. I dont think i disconnected any hoses when installing the MAF but ill check it out. Thanks

not to worry...thats' just the sucking sound coming through your Ram Intake from the throttle body...everything is normal
