Mr. LS - Why would you feel it necessary to make that comment?Mr. LS wrote:[pointless thread]
Got a point there, but if the hood rod was loose, it would fall down when you opened it, and that would be a big DUH on your part. But I guess we all have our moments, and I won't lie that I have left a wrench on my crankshaft pulley before and gone to start the car only to hear it get flung and hear a loud crash and say "oh $hit" to myself. Then learn it was a n00bie mistake.vpnavy wrote:

I disagree with your comment Mr. LS. Next time YOU hear a strange noise under your hood - please please - assume the worse.
What I've learned from TheRussianBulls post is to check my hood rod next time I look under the hood.
The reason I was sensitive to your comment (and the engine compartment noise) was because the hood rod holder (plastic) in my Frontier broke and the rod started banging under the hood. The holder, for some unknown reason, just decided to break four days after I closed my hood. So, the "DUH" factor didn't come into play.Mr. LS wrote:it would fall down when you opened it, and that would be a big DUH on your part.
Welcome to my world! I'm not having a great day so far as well.Mr. LS wrote:yea I actually put some thought into it and realized that it is plastic, and capable of breaking. I was having a REALLLLY bad day earlier so yea, didn't put any thought into anything.
