My '06 has an issue. When I press start button to "ON" (no brake), I get this weird rattle/gurgling sound that sounds as if it coming from the rear near my passenger tire. The sound reminds me of when my dads antenna motor was going out. The longer that car has been sitting, the longer the sound last. Like up to about 20 secs. If I turn off & on, it does it again but only for like a few secs. It does not make the sound at all when fully cranked. ideas?

anti-lock brakes also make a whirring sound when cycling -- usually when you start the car. . . but never for 20 seconds. Under warranty = take it in. I wouldn't wait until something fails.

Augusta, GA far has to have the worse Infiniti Dealer Service Dept. in this great country of ours.

Let me start with I called at 8:30 am, got an answering machine, and thus left a message. At 11:45 am when I didn't get a call back, I called again. The gentleman that answered the phone he sounded sleep and annoyed that I even called. He asks when can I bring it in and I respond with "whenever you have a loaner available". I get a pissy lil huff from him and he tells me to hold on.

Now let me explain something...last time I went for service, was shocked because a loaner was not given to me like the very 1st time I went in for service. I was informed that I had to "ask for loaner" when I scheduled service. This is why I said what I said.

He comes back, takes my info, then proceeds to tell me that he can't make a loaner available because Infiniti has cut dealers back on the # of loaners & won't let them give them out unless your vehicle required to stay overnight. Added, there is now a $9.00 up front surcharge on the loaner.

Man if I could get what I owe on this depreciating POS, this vehicle would be gone in a heartbeat. Never got this much BS & hassle out of MBenz when I had vehicle worth less than this one.

That smells like a poorly informed individual at a dealership that is well set on not providing good service.

Just for giggles, call another dealer in a town nearby like Atlanta & ask them about service & a loaner and if any changesd have occurred recently to their policy. If there's a bunch of crap being fed to you, get names & times you spoke to whom and send the note and concern to the dealership owner. Often times the line managers are set with one method of communication and the owners are unaware of the misinformation and "changes to policy" that managers seek to reduce costs.

My dealer is great, has never rattled off such crap to me and always asks about the need for a loaner. If they somehow forget to ask, I do anyway. This was as recent as a few weeks ago...

That is pretty darn poor Infiniti service response! I would call Infiniti Corporate and complain.

Not sure how it works in the USA, but loaner cars are paid for by Infiniti Corp in Canada using good (meaning 100 flawless reports) on customer sat surveys sent out by Infinity. So if the number of loaners has been cut back, they likely means they were not scoring well on the survey, and the funding is slowing for their loaner pool - ie, comes from dealer principles pocket.. what you are likely seeing if its anything close to how they explained loaners work here in Canada is the end result of previose poor service there.
