I think the M has a poor PCV system. That explains our blue smoke start up. When you rev or make the PCV work it sucks oil up in high compression engines. I got this on my SS (383 12.1 compression) and I installed a oil separator and it cured the oil smell and WOT blue smoke burst as well as start up blue smoke. Once my oil consumption test is done Im gonna install one on the M. BMWs run these oil separators as well as some GM vehicles with high compression. Here is a pic of the separator. I have to drail it about every 1K miles. You can see a little oil in this pic. That is just from a test idle and a few revs and you can see oil already in the tube. If the separator is not there just think that oil is in the intake and has to go some place and thats out the exhaust on top of the piston. Results in poor mileage. I have 30K on my M and the mileage is slowing going down and down.
