I changed the oil in my car the other day and had it all finished...left the oil fill cap off, started the car, and it would just die. So, I thought I might've bumped some wires or something. I jiggled some of the wires put the oil fill cap back on...idles great. I'm confused...would having the oil fill cap off affect the idling due to oil pressure or something. Like I said, runs fine now so I'm not too worried...

The oil cap should not affect idling at all. Sounds like you jiggled the wires and that fixed whatever and you just happened to put the cap back on at the same time.

I guess it had to be some sort of electronic problem then. I just hope it doesn't happen again

Having the oil cap off WILL effect the idle. Its part of the PCV, engine breathing process (pollution control). With the cap on, everything will be cool. Try it on any recent year car. Not many of them like to run with the oil cap off.
