weird rpm problems

well.... just gonnna get into it... most of the time when i come off the freeway and come to a stop my rpms stay up around 1800 for about 5 seconds then drop down to 750. and sometimes if i'm driving in the city and come to a stop light it will stay up around 1100 and then go back down. but the car runs fine. so not sure wha tthis could be

sounds like a sticking throttle body.

well i popped the hood today while the car was on and started revving the motor with the throttle cable and pushing it all the way back off and it was still there
