OK, guys this is my problem.

Part 20515, and Part 20510...the exhaust tube insulators around the downpipe. Can I just take these off? But won't it heat up my drivers area like hell

Heat shield rattle, broken cat screen, timing chain guide. Try to pinpoint the area better

Ok i've been looking around and trying to narrow it down...its definitely nothing to do with the timing chain guides because the sound seems to be coming from downpipe area. I jacked up the car and everything seems fine.

The sound seems like a vibration noise where something is hitting something else. Happens at about 3k rpm if I'm revving it at a stop, happens all the time if I'm driving. Its not my exhaust, the sound is coming from the area before the cat...maybe header and downpipe need replacing lol

my vote is the shell of the cat on the down pipe. mine was rattling for a while. i fixed it with a big hose clamp. no more noise.

definately your heatshield.. even one loose bolt can cause it. mine does it at exactly 2k rpms in any gear. mine is up where the header ends and the first heat shield is there.. i have all but one bolt in and it makes the noise..

Oh ok, so that shouldn't be too difficult. I should be able to get it out of the engine bay right?

Any negatives if I drive around without a heat sheild? Other than more heat in my feet area?

dont submerse the bottom of the car in puddles. Headers can crack, but I have taken them off a few of my cars, nothing to worry about.

the 02 goes into the header / pipe / downpipe, not "into the sheid" The shield sheilds the pipe.

ok so I checked the heat sheild...one bolt missing and one was loose. tightened everything up and drove it, I had alot less of the rattling sound but its still a little bit there

It does sit close, but my stock exhaust made the same noise, and so does my new Apexi lol so it can't be that

a few people just told you that removing the heat shield wouldnt do anything to your car but you have to be careful for your heated exhaust piping if you hit a cold puddle rapid cooling of heated metal causes cracking or weakness.
