I have a strange one for you guys.

My number 6 preset is properly programmed and it works fine. When I tune to it, it does not show the preset number "6". If I hold down the "6" button (as if to reprogram it) it will then show but if I tune to a different preset and go back to number 6, it disappears. Like I said, the station works fine but the number just doesn't show. I'll try to get some pics up when I can. Any ideas?

That's a very bizarre glitch. I'd say that part of the display might be burned out, but then holding down the button it comes up? That's... freaky.

My suggestion: Get a priest and some holy water. Or at least have the dealer replace it.

I had a weird one with my stereo (in the SL) where I ejected a CD, but at the same time turned off the car and removed the key. The stereo stayed stuck with a message to "Load CD", until I powered the car back up, and turned the stereo off.

Weird edge case scenario, I'm going to try to do it again and see if it's reproducible.

I think that may be a "feature", Ross! It drives me crazy when I unload a CD slot and don't want to load another CD in that slot, because it always sits there like a sad puppy asking if I want to load another CD. But when I turn off the car and let it sit there, after a minute or so it gives up on me, loads the next CD slot and turns itself off. (Does the same if I don't turn off the car, just doesn't turn itself off.) I just wish there were a way to answer "No" to the initial question!

I think mine does that too, my boyfriend borrowed the car from me for the weekend (I'm stuck with his Neon ) So I can't go check like I want to. But I seem to remember trying to reset my #6 and thinking that it was setting because the 6 didn't show up...

I just checked, and mine is definitely a question: "Insert Disc ?" And when I took the key out and ignored its pleading, within 30 seconds it loaded the next disc and shut itself off.

umm... you'll find that if you just leave it, the stereo will power off... it just gives you time place in a CD... it's like you can turn off the car and then roll down or up the windows... until you open the driver's door.. there's no reason to turn the car back on and power off the stereo ;oD

Just thought I'd mention while I was perusing this thread...

oooh... yeah, see kc5f got it too! I guess I'm not needed here ;oD

I think DavPX needs a trip to the dealer... ;oD

For what it's worth, on my stereo, if I hit the Eject button again after it asks me "Load CD?", it cancels the load request and goes back to what it was doing.

OK, now this is even weirder but I should have seen it coming. I took the versa in for an oil change today. If you remember, this posting has been here for a few weeks and my problem has been happening for a few weeks before that.

As soon as I was to telling my service guy about the issue, he came over and touched the driver's side door and leaned in to take a look and guess what?!?!?!?!?

IT FREAKING STOPPED. Now my number 6 preset displays perfectly. I was furious!! I hate it when that happens.

lmao my old ford windstar 95 had so many problems like that, it would start beeping like a door is open when it wasnt untill u hit 20mph, and all that, and it use to make really annoying noises like screetching of the wheels and stuff, and when you press the breaks really bad noises, but once the serivce guy sits there it all magicaly goes away.

Well I guess I will need some holy water because I was so excited to show my girlfriend that the problem had stopped and ............ well you know! In case you just got into this conversation, the number 6 preset indicator disappeared! I'm talking within minutes from driving away from the dealership. And oh yeah, i think I may have heard the faint sound of laughter coming from under the dash.
