as of right now, only my drivers window works....

a few days ago, it was fine, then the other afternoon on my way to work, i went to roll down the windows to like i do every day cuz its hot in my car, and the passenger window didnt do anything, i sat there for a few mins hittin all the window buttons, only the drivers worked. i havent done anything with the car lately, checked and replaced all the fuses that are listed as power windows. they were good, but i replaced them anyways. does anyone have any idea what could be up with my windows??

Maybe your lock-out switch is bad?

I'm assuming your hitting the power window switch's on the driver door arm rest? What you describe is the first signs of the power window console unit going bad. It happened to me. Its age related. I changed out the whole unit. Its an easy to do DIY project. I don't know how much a new switch costs nowadays, but 3-4 years ago it was around $110.

where is the unit located?? is it the box thats on the passenger door behind the door panel?? ive also tried each other window switch on each door, and still nothing.

is the control unit fixable? like the headlight relay??

The 'unit" is the driver door window console for all windows (driver, passengers and rear doors and lock/unlock). It located on the driver door armrest. It pops out with a flat head screwdriver (gently with patience). Its connected to a harness that's easy to disconnect from.

oh, that part... ok. is there a way of fixing it myself?? is the problem just that unit?? if theres something wrong with that unit, would that stop all the other window switches from working?? like the button on the passenger door doesnt control that window.

There is an excellent trouble shooting procedure in the manual, not sure where in Orlando you are but I have several of those drivers door controls if you want to take a ride and try them.

WOW!!! i feel like such an idiot right now... LMAO so i fished out my owners manual, and flipped to page 1-18, with info on power windows, saw the title, "Lock Switch". i totally forgot about the lock switch on the panel. and for the record, i dont ever remember hitting it on purpose. so i just went to my car now, it works fine. im so glad i didnt bother tearing apart the car to try to fix it.

so for starters thnx to gr8scott, but i didnt understand what he ment by "lock-out switch". and thnx to gerardjg for referencing the manual.i shall now hide... LOL

I almost made my first post look like this:

Maybe your lock-out switch is bad or just locked?
