Title explains the issue at hand. So what I'm trying to figure out here is just what the source of that popping is. To better explain the "popping", whenever I hit the brake it makes 1 popping sound and sometimes a few more. It almost sounds like a warped brake rotor but the car doesn't show any signs or it, plus the rotors are brand new brembo's so that couldn't be it. It's only coming from the front right and only when braking. I checked the wheel bearings by lifting each side and checking for play via the 6 o'clock 12 o'clock method and neither front bearing has any play, and in fact the wheel doesn't move at all. It does make a sound as if the pad is sitting on the rotor but I'm assuming that's normal with the hydraulic system being off. A bit more about the car then: 96 S14, F&F coilovers, megan tension rods and 15mm spacers. I think that's about all the relevant info for this. Please ask me whatever I wasn't clear on and I'll try my damnedest to clear it up.

Thanks in advance,Lev

Also I'm not sure if this is relevant or not but every once in a while the steering starts shaking like a mother****er.

I had a full inspection done of my front suspension and the only thing we found was a slightly offset motor mount, that was corrected and the problem is still there. I suspect it may be a bad upper mount so I talked to function and they are sending me a whole new passenger side coilover.

2 other possibilities. Check out your sway bar bushings, and your control arm bushings.

Were you able to resolve the sound? I have the same problem on my s14. I am going to check for play tomorrow. The sound only comes when I brake hard.
