weird pop when turning.

hey guys wats up? i jus recently got a 93 240sx and i noticed when i turn so far left or right itll make a weird popping sound and then pull that way. itll even do it if i hit a bump sometimes. its got a set of coilovers on it i dnt kno the brand n the po didnt have much knowledge on the suspension due the fact the po was a girl. ne help guys?

Bet bet is go get under there and check everything. Chances are there is a loose bolt, or a shot bushing somewhere. Is the pop in the rear? I would check all arm bolts/nuts, check subframe bushings and bolts, differential bolts and nut, ball joints, rod ends, and the tension rods. When was the last time the bushings were lubed?

ah its in the front. i heard sumone say a rack&pinion but its on the outer side by the tire is where the pop is coming from. n i dnt think its a balljoint cuz there isnt ne speed wobble lol. yea ima get under neath it when i get the chance to. ill do all that when i replace the ps pump cuz its whining jus a tad.

Rack bushings could be shot.

Have this same problem on mine. Turns out that the spring isn't mounted properly on my Driver's side strut and the mount is also shot. Jack up the front of the car so the wheels are off the ground, take of the wheel, and have a friend turn it all the way to each side. Check out the struts while thats happening.

+1, my coilovers make a springy kind of popping sound when it gets cold out, if its that then dont sweat it.

By the way is there any way to prevent this? I hate having people in my car saying "what the hell was that?!" and all i can say is, "ehh its normal"

no problem, i had the same problem. and i called the dealer and thats what they use, so i went there and they gave a big stack of it because i couldnt find any at my local auto stores.

anyways, it could be a lot of things. did you check your alignment? is your body straight? my friend had the same problem in a mbenz and it was her alignment... turns out she hit a curb going pretty fast... lol.

The same thing happens to my s13 when i turn. Nothing major, just annoying.

if not your springs, it could be your ball joint? mine popped when it was going out

Had the same problem, the previous owner jacked the car up all the time with the tension rod. It will also blow from drifting

thanks ill check it out. n the window is leaking on the hatch not the tail lights. my fiance felt cold air coming in last nite thru the hatch n put her hands by it n felt it.

well the pop was the tension rod bracket. it was bent. n discovered a small part of the frame is missing as well. wtf.

bushing was fine. the bracket was bent a lil n i straightened it up n it went a way for a lil bit n started back. im thinkn it maybe the ball joints tho.
