weird noises

I have an 86' 300zx turbo 5 speed. Whenever you aren't under acceleration their are like whining noises coming from somewhere in the rear. Kind of sounds like the center and the left side. After I noticed this tonight I parked it since I don't want to further mess anything up. Thanks for your help.

it sounds like it might be your differential. at what rpm's are you at when this happens.

dont remember on the rpms but I think it usually starts over 25 mph

well, the noise *could* not be a bad thing. if you are in a low gear at higher mph and you are basically engine braking, most of the time a the drivetrain does make a whining noise.

It makes the noise all the time after 25 mph unless you are under acceleration. It's not just a little noise, it is pretty loud.
