okay so i think ive figured it out.. first i thought it was the calipers but im nots ure anymore.. today while driving i realized it cant be the calipers... but rather something with the pedal...

when i press it.. it makes this crkkk crkk. Long ago I thought it was the stainless steel brake lines... as i was told they make that kind of noise or something but im not so sure... ive heard this same noise on some guy's stock 240sx... i have 300zx 26mm calipers, ss lines from pdm, and 300zx nabco mbc.

I am pretty sure its the pedals... im not sure...

on a side note also is there a way to improve gas pedal feel... its kinda softer than my friend's s13... and definetely my pedals both the gas and brake feel soft/clumsy/whatever... i have a 91 s13. Automatic for now... manual soon... The s14 I sat in also had much better gas pedal feel... and even brake feel (although it was too soft for my taste in contrast to my pedal overall...)

help....

I scare old people, women and children when i brake even from a 20km/hr roll

Can you feel it in the pedal when the noise occurs? If so, there's a chance that you have air in the lines. Bleed them properly and see if it reduces the noise or makes it go away.

You're not the only one with these mysterious crrrk crrk z32 brake noises. I have seen other forums where other people had similar symptoms, but no one has had a definate answer to how to cure it. I almost have the same set up as you with 26mm calipers and ss lines from pdm, but have stock mc. Can you be stationary and make the crrk crrk just by applying brake pressure? I have new hard ware like clips, pins etc. to put on when it's time for new pads, but I have heard that this does not cure it.

JeromeS13 I can feel it in the peddal when the noise occurs. I never thought about bleeding the brakes as a possible solution because the noise sounds so mechanical if you know what I mean. I don't have any complaints about pedal feel, but I guess air in the lines could cause some resonance in the lines. Kind of like hydrolic power steering systems they can make weird noises when turnig the wheel due to resonance in the hydrolic lines.

It will be another week or two before I bleed the brakes. I will make sure to post my results after i due.

If you have an abs equiped s13 than also bleed the abs unit.

I have the same noise on my S14 with Z32 30mm calipers.. I thought that it was my calipers as well, but I think I have narrowed it down to the pedal assembly and bulkhead flex... It only does it when I apply more pressue when I'm already stopped. I'm not too worried about it, my brakes work fine and usually the music covers it up. Not to mention I'm not a grandma and don't ride my brakes..

my s13 makes the same noise after I did the z32 front swap. it is normal for to hear that noise, I didnt think that it was because of my ss brake lines untill I put a ss line on for my clutch slave cylinder and now it does it to!! they brake noise went away recently and Im sure it will just be a matter of time till the clutch pedal noise goes also, so dont worry about it!!
