weird noise

so i noticed when you have the key in the on position but not running, you floor the gas pedal i hear solenoid sound high pitch and what sounds like the fuel pump engaging. weird never seen that on any other car before, usually fuel pump comes on for a sec to pressurize then goes off. release gas sound goes away.
