Weird MSD problem

Ok so I installed my 6al and everything went well or so I thought. I stopped getting a tach signal to the ecu as well as a code 21. the msd must not be pickin up a tach signal either as its not limiting at 3 grand where it is supposed too. Any ideas?

<----Off topic but big for me 100 posts whooo!! Ok back to ignition problem.

I did it on my ka24de with no problems. cut the red and blue loops.........orange and black wires to the msd coil.......green wire (car side)from the oe coil to red the other wire to white. thats how i did it. Are you using the 2step or is it built in?

you have the built in rev limiter correct?..and the 6AL has the rotary switch for the number of cylinders correct?...im not shure on your modle but you may need a tach adapter if your using the standard OEM gauge...some imports requier it for the msd to give a proper signal to the ecu/tach.

yeah the ecu is still giving me code 21. so i got a tach adapter ordered but the msd does limit the revs now that i cut the blue and red loops so that will work for now.

what rpm chip are you using try using a higher chip.

no i mean before it wasnt limiting where it should at 3 grand (test chip). I have my regular one in now. and hopefully that adapter will fix 21.
