Weird MPG fuel reading on the dash.

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

It has been a month now since I noticed my fuel MPG on the dash reading seems to be very low. Before it goes to 19-21 MPG reading on normal driving, but I am only getting 15-16 MPG even on the same style of driving.

I am not worried too much bec. i never rely on this anyway, but I am just curious if you guys has this issue. My car is still under warranty until Sept. next year.

BTW! within the first year I bought the EX35, they replaced the fuel pump 2x.
The the last replacement lasted from 2008 untill now. I am just wondering if it is failing? So far car runs smoothly.

Could really be anything. I don't drive the EX enough on a regular basis to notice these things.

Did the same thing happen before each of your fuel pump replacements?

I have 16 -17 MPG from the moment I bought this car (6 months). But I'm driving pretty much town roads and just about 10-15 miles a day, so car barely warms up until I get to my destination. So, I think this it OK since its 3.5L.

NJ, the first fuel pump replacement was for humming sound after ignition turned off. The 2nd one was the Fuel Miles to go indication shows from 50MPG to 15MPG left within 3 miles of driving. (When fuel level is low)
