weird lights issues!

Yess i tried to search!

My girlfriend was going shopping yesterday and got pulled over.The cop told her that all the tail lights (evreything) but the third brake light were off! So i cheked for an hour and it seems that if the runing lights are off the tail lights all work propelly! But when i turn the headlights on evrything go offand if it works when i touch the brake evrthing shuts down exept the third light(window)!

I dunno whats happening but looks like i need some help!1989 240sx coupe with sr20det..

Could be a lot of things.

When my car was having weird problems like that (happened in series) - it was one of the following:

- one of the sidemarker or turn signal lights (front & back) were bad- one of the grounds on the taillight housing were bad - if you take out the plastic piece that holds all the bulbs, you can see where the ground wire touches the plastic; over time plastic melts and messes up the ground - gotta unbolt it, clean it off, and reattach

- are your dashlights out too? if that is it, you gotta check the dimmer switch as well (iirc).

ok i did cheked evry single bulb on the car!tried search button as well!

The dimmer switch's good i took it appart!When the car is parked with no power at all, if i touch the brake pedal the clock dim as well as my boost gauge! Witch is wired to my cruise controll button! That is some weird stuff!
