i recently flushed the entire cooling system and replaced the radiator in my z.. now there is a very small leak that seems to be coming from right above the clutch pedal.. it is dripping down the pedal itself (only on drivers side) .. it doesnt really have the smell of coolant and it is pretty clear in color.. any ideas as to what this is?

..anyone at all? i suspect it may be the clutch master cylinder that is leaking.. is there any specific way to pinpoint the leak or should the whole thing be replaced? Also, when I noticed the fluid level was dropping quicker than it should be, i first thought it was the slave until just now when the leak appeared inside..

Does it feel like hydraulic fluid or does it feel like water? Does it drip all the time or does it only drip when you have the A/C on?

I have never actually seen the drip.. just noticed that overnight the little puddle grew on my floor mat (w/o car of a/c on).. hard to tell what type of fluid it is cuz my mats are rubber so the fluid there just smells of rubber and the clutch pedal is just slick.. it's not a thick substance but doubt it is water

there are no coolant line that run anywhere near your pedal in engine bay or behind the dash. it can only be 2 things...clutch fluid or unlikely brake fluid

if there was a slight leak in your heater core you could have a coolant leak from under the dash because the A/C runs under it.

so i checked my car out and found the leak was from the clutch master cylinder..has anyone replaced one of these? i've heard it requires removing the whole dash and is kind of a PITA to do

yes it's a pain. but is it the assembly housing or the actual cyclinder in the engine bay. the housing is a pain to get to0...

it is actually just a seal that protects the piston.. would just replace that if i could but seems more logical to just replace the entire part.. also heard that unlike the slave, you can get away with replacing the master cylinder w/o bleeding the system.
