My truck has the VG30 or the 3.0 liter V6 motor and for some reason when it gets cold out like below 45-40 F when I first start it if I give it any gas what so ever it starts to miss. I've replaced the temp sensor, the throttle position switch, and added in that extra ground wire that goes over to the air cleaner and it still does it. I had a guy that has worked on Nissans/Datsuns for over 25 years and he has never seen one do this. By the way it acts and the exhaust it puts out I think its flooding itself but, I cant figure out how a fuel injected motor floods itself. I thought maybe it was an injector but seems to me if it was a leaking injector it woud do it all the time whether it was cold or not. Any one have any input on what could cause this???

The manual points to few things to check out.

Possible fouled injector.Ignition timing may need adjustment.

Cold conditions cause stumbling, but does this go away once the engine warms up? If it does there could be some moisture somewehre or a lubrication issue on a moving part either in the distributor or the fuel delivery system itself.

Have you tried pouring a 8-10oz bottle of fuel line antifreeze (methyl-hydrate) into your fuel tank? You can also inspect the moving parts of the distributor and see if anything has old dry grease or somekind of oily residue on it. (Electrical components inside the distributor usually have a small amount of di-electric grease under them to transfer heat back to the body of the distributor. This is normal).

if it appears to be "rich" at the pipes you may have a hung injector(s). Which may "unstick" itself once engine has come up to opperating temperature. Hope it helps

I don't know to much about the VG30 but that problem definitely sounds like an injector sticking open or something...i'd start there

Check out the pins on the coolant temp sensor connector.Loose pins are a common problem in the CTS on D21,s.
