i got my sr running for about a week now and everytime i start it up i have to give it gas above 1500 rpm and then slowly let down til normal level of idle. If i dont do this it'll die immediately. And after i do that it'll idle fine for the rest of the time that it is on.

Have any of you guys had this situation before? i ahve no idea what it could be since the car runs strong and boost to 7psi no problem.

well today i thought i fixed my idle problem at startup.

i replaced the platinum plugs with vpower coppers bkr6e's gapped to .32 and for the first 8 or so start ups it would start immediately and idle like normal.

after that, same problem. oh well

Maybe to cold of a plug? I dunno.... Sounds like a IAC problem because my Chevy did that before.

you might have a vacume leak, listen for a vacaume leak or spray some carburetor cleaner and see if the idle changes

i think you might be right. i've noticed if i have the car in neutral and i give it a very tiny tiny amount of throttle the rpm will breifly go down and then up.

I have the same problem with my J30. I cleaned the IAC and it helped a bit. Check that along with throttle body for carbon buildup.
