Hello there!!. I sure do hope someone out there can help with my issue as I have found nothing as far as support or related problems on any site.

First off, about a year ago my car (2001 i30, 215K) started acting funny like it was running out of fuel while driving. I unplugged the battery for a few hours and it seemed to fix it. Boy was I wrong. the car then started to die when coming to a light. it sure was a pain getting it to a shop. My mechanic told me he adjusted some screws and cleaned the TB out. Did not fix the problem, luckily he didnt make me pay him. So from there I did my research and found my ECM was fried in two spots on the board. Sent that off to be repaired while waiting for that to come back I unplugged my Mounts and replaced the IAC. I tried the idle relearn and could not get it to take. so i muscled the car up to the nearest Nissan dealership since there is no Infiniti one is Pensacola, FL. They used the Consult II and did the relearn using that method. That brings me to my problem now that has been happening ever since. Ive just been dealing with it. In the morning I have to give it a little gas to keep the engine running right as I start it, then it levels out to around 900-1k RPM. after the engine warms up to temp it settles around 650-7. Once I take the car driving for any length of time. And I park or put the car in neutral, the car dies after 5-20 seconds, But only in Park or neutral. In drive or reverse it catches itself around 650. I have no clue where to begin even diagnosing this problem. I thought about taking it to the stealership and having them diag it for me then repairing it myself. I mean I guess I could live with the issue but it is really starting to bother me now. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks!

When you replaced the IACV did you also replace the rubber gasket? Either you're having the same problem as before or Idle relearn wasn't done right

Yeah I replaced the gasket that came with the valve. And yeah I want to try the relearn again. But ill have to take it to the dealership again because I could never get the relearn to work properly. So you think the relearn could fix it?

yes, after you replac the IACV you need to also clean the throttle body really well before you set the idle.

Have you ever had success doing the relearn process without the consult. The actually "car owner" way, if you will.

Honestly no, cause I've always used consult
