Turn on headlights in my 91 Sentra Classic results in something strange (this is the same car sold in the states until 90 - ga16i motor)

Click on lights, the driver light comes on, passenger don't. Then click on the highbeams, the driver one turns off, and the passenger high beam comes on...

Swap the bulbs same thing happens except switch sides.

What gives?!?!

My bulbs are not at fault. Any bulb plugged into the driver side works on low beam only, any bulb plugged into the passenger side works on high beam only.

Meaning that on low on the driver side is lit, and on hi beam only the passenger side is lit.

All the wiring is intact, no fraying or damaged sections, bulbs are secured when installed.

Replace the switch it self. Maybe shorting out.
