Just bought my z32 (1991) for $500

It's literally trashed though, as far as the interior goes. It's really neglected.

There is something really weird about the car. The headlight is always on high beam mode, and when I brake, it changes to low beam. When I release the brake pedal, it's back on high beam.

The ghetto guy must have been messing with it?

Most likely a wiring problem. Try turning off and on your fog light switch in the dash. When I have the switch off, my lights auto go to hi-beam and when it the switch is on, then I can flip between low and high. Just the way that it was wired I guess.

I tried turning off and on my fog light switch, it doesn't have any effect.

Somebody tried to play shade tree machanic with the wiring and somerwere along the way, I would say after alot of alcohol, the guy who had the car before you screwed up the wiring... PS look for alot of sticky electrical tape and cheap connectors, thatll realy tell you if some one played with the wires..

Yea I've been looking for those, but so far no luck yet. I have removed a whole bunch of alarm and remote start wire jumbles (no one has the remote, of course) suspecting that was the cause. But it's not.

Is the battery fully charged? Low voltage does some really wierd stuff in these Z's.

So you might actualy just have a crazy short somewere, like the post about the low battery, Z's tend to do some crazy things when you have abad short, bad grounds, loose terminal, bad connections, etc..... Its gonna be a long drawn out process, but I would say get a voltage tester and test all main leads and what not..... Good Luck
