Weird headlight Issue

My headlights go out intermittently. Not both at the same time either. I may hit a bump and the left will go out or when the ABS system cycles when I begin to drive the right one will go off. I can turn the switch off then on and both will come right back on. A while later one will go out again. Any ideas?

Sounds like the switch on your steering column. This is somewhat of a common issue especially if you keep your lights set to auto. I got a new one from the dealer for around $80 and it took a whole 3min to replace, it's ridiculously easy.

Well that's exact;y what mine was doing and got worse over time. First it was just the driver's side, then the passenger's then both @ midnight while cruising down the 405 freeway. At first I though it might be the ballasts going out which is not cheap to replace OEM. I replaced the switch and now everything is back to normal.

Did you ever get this fixed??? I am having the same issue! I'll turn the lights on and left is on and the right is off, cycle the light switch and its vice versa????

You can try removing the headlight stalk and cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol.

Is it Canadian...does it have DRL's?
If so, the DRL module has been known to cause this problem.
