weird grinding noises when i start my car when the engine isn't hot

when ever i start up my 95 240 when i haven't driven in a couple hours and the engine isn't hot, it makes a weird grinding noise when i push down the clutch, wether i have it in gear or not. after about 1 min of driving its like what ever was grinding got wet and doesn't do it anymore. any one know what the prob might be?

Could be the release bearing or the pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft. Either way I would do a complete clutch job if I were going to go that far to replace the release bearing or pilot bushing.

i had the same problem ....it is your throwout bearing in your tranny ...dealing with your clutch!! just change it out and everyhing will be alright!!

Yup I had the same thing happen to me. I replaced mine twice with cheap Pep Boys crap bearings...then I got a Centerforce one and it hasn't happened yet, and it's been a couple years now.

thanks for the help. i am really tight on money right now so is this something i HAVE to do now or can put some more months on it. i put about 300 to 400 miles a week on my car.
